"My feeling has always been that Good Eats would have never happened had it been left to a committee."
-Alton Brown

I never bothered to look before, but Alton Brown of Good Eats fame (and other shows) has a blog all about food and such.  Its a good site, although its more of the "found this nifty link" variety than thinking.  Called Alton Brown Notebook, its worth a look, particularly if you're a fan of the man.  Here's a sample, about the limited offer summer Watermelon flavored Oreo cookies (ugh):
A horde of HuffPost editors quickly descended upon an eagerly anticipated box of Watermelon Oreos—which feature a bright green-and-pink filling sandwiched between two vanilla wafers. Are they as good as blogger The Junk Food Guy said they would be? Several editors agreed your instinct is not to swallow because it tastes much like bubble gum. Most editors agreed that Watermelon Oreos weren’t quite as bad as Candy Corn Oreos, but you can eat just one….. The snacks debuted on June 10 and are now on Target shelves nationwide for a limited time.
They sound awful to me.  Alton also has a podcast now, the Alton Browncast, which you can pick up at the Nerdist.  Included in the episode are topics such as what his favorite Dr Who villain is, and what the effect of genetically modified wheat popping up in a Washington State wheat field did to world wheat prices.
