"That's a racist distraction!"

Mitt Romney should make public his tax returns. It isn't that this is something the public desperately needs to know, its just part of the job he's trying to get. President of the United States is one of the toughest jobs in the world, and the most powerful. If you want that job, you're going to have to cough up plenty of information to show who you are and how you're qualified. So lets have them, Romney.

There's a bill being proposed by Democrats in congress that any presidential candidate must show the last 10 years of their tax returns, which wouldn't affect Romney (the legal term is ex post facto - you cannot charge someone with violating a law created after the fact). I don't have a problem with that in particular. But its not broad enough.

Add these into the bill too:
  • School transcripts
  • Birth certificate
  • College theses and writings
  • Health records for the past 10 years
  • Job performance reviews
  • Documentation on previous employment and appointments
Why do I bring those up in particular? Because they're all things that Democrat candidates refuse to show - Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in particular. If the standard is that we need to know everything we can about presidential candidates - a standard I agree with - then lets have it. No exceptions, no political favorites.

After all, this is about getting the most information so a proper candidate can be elected, right?
