Obama Protection
Although Andrew Breitbart is dead, the people who worked with him and run his "Big" line of sites are still carrying on his efforts. In particular, they've started up a series on Barack Obama, examining his past and his life.

Its too late to inform people about the man to warn them. That had to be done in 2008, and while others like myself did our part to try, it had little to no impact. So why bring all that up now? The editors of Big Government explain in part one of the Vetting series:
Prior to his passing, Andrew Breitbart said that the mission of the Breitbart empire was to exemplify the free and fearless press that our Constitution protects--but which, increasingly, the mainstream media denies us.

“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?” – “Who guards the guardians?” Andrew saw himself in that role—as a guardian protecting Americans from the left’s “objective” loyal scribes.

Andrew wanted to do what the mainstream media would not. First and foremost: Andrew pledged to vet President Barack H. Obama.

Andrew did not want to re-litigate the 2008 election. Nor did he want to let Republicans off the hook. Instead, he wanted to show that the media had failed in its most basic duty: to uncover the truth, and hold those in power accountable, regardless of party.

From today through Election Day, November 6, 2012, we will vet this president--and his rivals.

We begin with a column Andrew wrote last week in preparation for today’s Big relaunch--a story that should swing the first hammer against the glass wall the mainstream media has built around Barack Obama.
See, the legacy media did cover some of Barack Obama's past. We knew details like where he was born and what his mother's name was. We knew where he want to college, what political experience he had, and what his books were called. We even knew where he went to church.

The problem is, they didn't cover much of anything that mattered and specifically avoided the especially problematic parts that matterered. So this series isn't about President Obama, even though he's the subject. Its about the legacy media and their dereliction, how they failed us in so many ways in a rush to get their chosen guy into the presidency.

And since he's done such a woeful job, was so unprepared, and is so incompetent as president, its good to make sure people know about that failure, and are warned about how it came about. The press isn't as fawning and worshipful any more. They aren't gushing and flirting, and although we're starting to hear bout the "fainting at Obama speeches" nonsense again, the halo really is off the man this time around.

But they'll try to bring it back.

Breitbart's the cure for mainstream media? I think I'll take what's behind Door #3.
