This is a pretty good graphic showing the increase in student debt load held in America. The bloat is quite impressive, but the problem is, the poster is put out by "Occupy" people, so they're sort of missing the point.

They want you to believe they deliberately signed loan papers, went to college, and aren't paying their loans back... so banks are to blame. No, the economy is to blame, and colleges are to blame, and you're possibly to blame for taking on debt you couldn't repay. Four years of college can add up to as much as a small house in loans, and students aren't thinking that through.

Maybe they should look at the colleges, and the president who's in office now as the economy continues to crater rather than banks. But then, the occupy movement is about getting free stuff and facing no negative consequences, not facts and reality.
