“one of the least remarked upon aspects of the Obama presidency has been the lack of scandals.”
-Professor Brendan Nyhan

The year is almost over, so there's probably not enough time for another scandal to emerge. So Michelle Malkin's scandal wrap up for 2011 is well timed, listing the problems that the Obama administration has faced so far.

Hilariously, some on the left claim there have been no scandals, and certainly if you get your news from NBC, Jon Stewart, or the New York Times you could be forgiven for thinking so. But the legacy media isn't where most people get their news any longer, and they've been left behind in reporting.

So here's her list, in summary:
  • Carol Browner's resignation after ordering GM and Chrysler auto execs to “put nothing in writing, ever” and putting out a misleading, false report on oil leak damage.
  • In February, President Obama was in fact held in contempt of court for ordering drilling halted in the coast without constitutional power to do so.
  • All through spring, waivers to organizations to avoid the cost of the Government Health Insurance Takeover Act - almost all of them to Obama friends and political allies such as the SEIU.
  • In October it was revealed that Obama’s health and human services secretary, Kathleen Sebelius had shredded documents to protect Planned Parenthood in a high profile criminal case from when she was Governor of Kansas.
  • Then there was Solyndra, the first in over a half dozen "green" energy companies that were given dump trucks full of cash from the "stimulus" package and went bankrupt anyway.
  • Then there was the LightSquared scandal where a general was pressured to change his testimony before congress.
  • Clair McCaskill is a Democrat, but even she was so outraged by the no-bid smallpox antiviral pill contract with Siga Technologies — controlled by big Obama donor Ron Perelman.
  • There was also the MF Global collapse, led by Obama donor and former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine who lost hundreds of millions of dollars and scammed the business while throwing tens of thousands of dollars into the pockets of the reelect Obama team.
  • And of course, there was the Fast & Furious scandal, which is still unfolding despite the best efforts of the Obama administration and their willing allies in the legacy media. Hundreds are dead, and the death toll keeps rising. No indictments, no arrests.
But other than that, no scandals at all.

I'd add the lack of interest in prosecuting the Black Panthers with clubs patrolling outside of polling places.

That blew my mind. If we were watching for a "fair election" in a struggling democracy that would have been cited as evidence that elections in that country were NOT fair and free.
