“The word 'hero' has been bandied about a lot to refer to anyone killed in Afghanistan or Iraq. But anyone who voluntarily goes to Afghanistan or Iraq is fighting for an evil cause under an evil commander in chief.”
-Ted Rall

Ted Rall is a repulsive, hateful human being whose work consists of crudely-drawn comics vomiting some of the worst sort of leftist cant and bigotry. Like most "alternative publication" cartoonists which he started as, Rall uses sophistry, red herrings, and shoving words down the throats of his opposition to make blunt, childish points in his cartoons.

Rall, author of The Anti-American Manifesto claims he's for America rather than one party or politician. His hateful trash got so bad during the Bush administration that newspapers started to dump him, when they never should have carried him to begin with.

Ted Rall wrote a whiny piece recently in which he complains about censorship, violations of the 1st amendment, and McCarthyism that keeps him from being published in every newspaper in America. Clearly, there could be no other reason. But what stood out was this part of his tantrum:
  • "I am familiar with and enjoy your cartoons. However the readers of our site would not be comfortable with your (admittedly on point) criticism of Obama."
  • "Don't be such a hater on O and we could use your stuff. Can't you focus more on the GOP?"
  • "Our first African-American president deserves a chance to clean up Bush's mess witout being attacked by us."
See, he has written some comics that question President Obama, and the newspapers that refused to run them clearly are demonstrating their attitude toward the president and how they want to protect him. Rall says outright that these guys are hard leftists: "What's weird is that these cultish attitudes come from editors and publishers whose politics line up neatly with mine." Rall is about as hard left as imaginable, he's so tilted he's horizontal.

So fact one: Ted Rall sees eye to eye with the publishers and editors of various news organizations when it comes to politics. The only reason he was being published in top end newspapers was because of this fact and that he was viewed as being "hip."

Fact two: Ted Rall has revealed how protective and in the tank for President Obama the news media is. Even criticisms they agree with they don't want to run if it hurts their favored politician.

Fact three: Rall has shown that at least one editor requested more attacks on the Republican party, specifically. I somehow doubt that's the only one who wants that, or even that requested it.

Remember that after every revolution, among those lined up against the wall are its more ardent supporters. In this case it's metaphorical, but still true.
