Education is a common topic of discussion in the United States: how well it's doing, what is wrong, how we got here, and what we can do about it. For two weeks I've looked at these questions, examining not the policies that government can use to address these troubles, but what we can do as individual citizens and parents, and what the philosophy behind education ought to be.
